Trikaal › Rashifal
Aaj ka rashifal, from the sky rather than a template
A rashifal is the same for a twelfth of the country. We say that on every page, and print the transits relative to each Moon sign instead of paragraphs pretending to be about you.

Every tool here reads the sky. The reading reads you.
A calculator answers the question you already knew how to ask. The full reading takes your birth minute and answers the one most people actually have, which is when, in dated windows for each part of life. Written in English or Hinglish.

Questions
What is Chandrashtama?
The two days or so each month when the transiting Moon is in the 8th sign from your Moon sign. It is traditionally a time to avoid starting new things.
Is a daily rashifal accurate?
It cannot be about you, because it knows one fact about you: your Moon sign. What it can do honestly is report the sky relative to that sign, which is what these pages do.
Why is there no lucky number or colour?
Because nothing in a Moon sign produces one, and printing a field with no input behind it is the thing these pages are arguing against.
How this is calculated
Positions come from Skyfield and the JPL DE440s ephemeris, with our own Lahiri ayanamsa referred to the mean equinox of date. Every planet agrees with Swiss Ephemeris to under one arcsecond, and the lunar node to under a tenth of one. We publish that because nobody else in this market publishes theirs.
- Skyfield. The astronomy library that computes every position on this site.
- JPL planetary ephemerides. NASA JPL's ephemeris export page. The DE440s kernel we load is the source of every raw planetary position.
- Capitaine, Wallace and Chapront (2003), IAU 2006 precession. The precession expressions our Lahiri ayanamsa is carried forward with from its J2000 anchor.
- Positional Astronomy Centre, Kolkata. The India Meteorological Department office that publishes the Rashtriya Panchang, which defines the Lahiri ayanamsa.
- Swiss Ephemeris. The reference implementation we test against: under one arcsecond on every planet. It is used only in our test suite, never on this site.
