Trikaal compared with AstroSage
AstroSage is the default in this market and has been for two decades. If you are choosing between the two of us for general use, choose them. This page exists to describe the narrow thing we do that they do not, so you can tell quickly whether it is the thing you want.
Where AstroSage is better than us
- Scale and track record. By their own published figures they serve over a million people a day and their Kundli app has been installed tens of millions of times. They have been shipping since 2001. We launched this year.
- Breadth. Lal Kitab, Nadi dosha, muhurat, baby names, numerology, daily and annual horoscopes, and a directory of astrologers you can speak to. We do one document about one person, plus eleven calculators.
- Languages. Hindi and a dozen other Indian languages, in Devanagari. We write the reading in English, or in Hinglish, which is Hindi written in Roman script, and not in Devanagari at all. If you want to read in the Hindi script, they have it and we do not, and for a great many Indian readers that alone settles it.
- Free. Nearly everything they offer costs nothing. Our free tier is one reading of what you are like and the calculators on this site.
- Human astrologers. If you want to talk to a person, they have a network and we have nothing to offer you at all.
What we do differently
- We date things. The whole product is windows: this six week stretch, that sub-period ending on that day. A general report tells you what your Saturn means. Ours tells you which fortnight it lands in.
- We publish our method. Skyfield, JPL DE440s, our own Lahiri ayanamsa, verified under one arcsecond against Swiss Ephemeris. We have not found an ephemeris disclosure on any large Indian astrology site, ours or theirs, which is why we print ours on every page.
- We prove the method before the full price. The free read describes what you are like. The back-cast describes years that have already happened, so you can check it against your own memory rather than waiting ten years to find out.
- Thirty pages, not two hundred and fifty. Length in this category is mostly template expansion. We publish a page about why ours is short.
- No struck-through prices. The category runs Rs 998 reduced to Rs 299 as standing practice. We quote one number and it only ever goes down.

When AstroSage remains the better choice
Choose AstroSage if you want kundli matching, want to read in Devanagari Hindi, want to talk to an astrologer, or want a broad free reference you can keep coming back to. Those are most people, and none of them is a reason to buy from us instead.
The verdict
AstroSage is the better platform. Trikaal is the better answer to one question: when. If you already know your chart and what you want is dated windows with the working shown, buy ours. Otherwise theirs is the sensible default and we would rather say so than pretend.
What you are actually choosing between
Everything above is an argument, and you have read enough arguments today. The reading is the thing being compared: your own chart, every date computed rather than written, and a page telling you which remedies you can ignore.

Not ready to take our word over theirs?
You should not take our word over theirs. We have written a page arguing our own case, which is exactly what any competitor would do, and you have no way to tell which of us is right from reading either. So test it instead of believing it. The free reading describes what you are like, from your birth minute alone. If it does not sound like you, do not buy anything from us.
Whichever you start with, the Rs 79 is credited, so the full reading is Rs 179 afterwards and the total is the same either way. A price we quote you never goes up.

Questions
Is Trikaal more accurate than AstroSage?
On the astronomy, we can only speak for ourselves: our positions agree with Swiss Ephemeris to under one arcsecond and we publish the test. We have not audited theirs and will not claim their maths is wrong. On interpretation, accuracy is not a thing either of us can prove, which is why our free tier describes your past rather than your future.
Why is AstroSage free and you are not?
Different businesses. Theirs runs at enormous scale with advertising and an astrologer marketplace behind it. Ours writes one document per customer with a large language model, and that has a real per-report cost we have published. The calculators on this site are free because they are deterministic and cost us almost nothing to run.
Can I use both?
Yes, and quite a few people should. Take a free kundli from either of us, then buy the back-cast here for Rs 79 and check whether the dated windows match years you actually remember. That is a cheap test of whether this method is worth anything to you.
Facts a competitor publishes about itself are attributed to them above rather than asserted as our own measurement. If anything here has gone out of date, write to us and we will correct it.
